There are multiple ways you can access your Service, but if you have the standard psql PostgreSQL command-line client available, you can simply click on the "Service URL" and copy it to the clipboard and then just launch the psql client in a command shell by pasting the entire service URL as a command-line parameter for it:

$psql postgres://tsdbadmin:[email protected]:20985/defaultdb?sslmode=require

psql (10.6)

SSL connection (protocol: TLSv1.2, cipher: ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384, bits: 256, compression: off)

Type "help" for help.

defaultdb=>

You can find additional examples of accessing the database here:

https://kb.timescale.cloud/advanced-topics/database-access-examples

NOTE: Timescale Cloud enforces usage of SSL for PostgreSQL connections, i.e. any client connecting to an Timescale Cloud is required to use SSL. If you have trouble connecting to the database, please make sure your client software is not trying to establish an insecure non-SSL connection.
